Every year, hundreds of thousands of tourists from different parts of our country visit the landscape park in the town of Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi – a monument of garden and park art of the last quarter of the 18th – 19th centuries, which is part of the Nature Reserve. The book “The Unfinished History of the Ancient Park” was published in the series “Amazing Cherkasy Regions,” which examines the pages of the history of the foundation and formation of one of the most impressive ancient parks of Ukraine – Korsunskyi.
The author of the book, Paraskovia Stepenkina, for the first time in Ukrainian historiography, investigated the park’s history through the owners’ contribution to its preservation and development for more than two centuries.
The publication uses a wide range of archival documents and testimonies of contemporaries, richly illustrated with color and black-and-white reproductions of paintings and graphics, photocopies of photographs from the 19th – 21st centuries, several of which have been published for the first time.
