Korsun-Shevchenkivskiy State Historical and Cultural Preserve joined the European action “Night of Museums” in 2008. The main purpose of the Action is to show the resource, opportunities and potential of the Preserve’s museums, to involve young people in museums, to promote stock collections. The action in the Preserve had been held on the night on May 17-18 every year, except for 2014 and 2020. As a part of the Action, the Preserve hosted open-air concert and concerts in the central hall of the palace, performances by chamber and folk ensembles, choirs and dance groups, brass bands, and musicals; charitable auctions, interactive museum events, presentations of exhibitions of paintings and decorative and applied arts, ethnographic and natural arts were held; night excursions to the Belvedere Tower, the palace and the park, enriched with performance scenes; theatrical and author’s excursions in museums; “Korsunsky Dascent” worked – an exhibition-sale of works by artists and masters of decorative and applied arts, charitable master classes; Excerpts from performances of classics of Ukrainian literature were performed by folk amateur theater groups of Korsun region; reconstructions of important historical events which took place in the region were carried out with the participation of members of military-historical reconstruction clubs.
The preserve will continue actively participate in the European action “Night of Museums”.
