Various and interesting museum events were held in the Korsun-Shevchenkiv State Historical and Cultural Reserve for the International Day of Museums. They began with author tours in the historical museum. During the excursion “From the history of archaeological research in the Korsun region”, the deputy director for scientific work Lidia Ovsienko focused the attention of the excursionists on the unique artifacts found in the Korsun region, which are important not only for studying the history of our region, but also historical processes on the territory of Ukraine and Europe . The head of the historical museum, candidate of historical sciences, Stanislav Stepenkin, told about the history of Korsun during the period of Ukraine-Russia, the Cossack period, the period of the XVIII-XIX centuries in his author’s tour “Window to the past”. The head of the military museum, Tetyana Polyakova, introduced the history of the unique architectural ensemble, built on the granite islands of the Rosy River, to Korsu residents and guests of the city during the tour “The Grandeur of the Korsu Palace Ensemble”. No one was left indifferent and gave positive emotions the author’s tour of the junior researcher of the Department of Nature Conservation, Kateryna Loyenko, “Spring honey flowers of Kotsyubinsky Island”.

After the author’s tours, the ethnographic event “And an embroidered towel…” took place on the territory of the Reserve. Within its framework, an exhibition was created, which exhibited ceremonial, talismanic and interior towels of the Cherkasy region and Kyiv region of the period of the 30s-60s of the 20th century from the stock collection and handed down by the families of the Korsu residents. The organizers of the event are Galina Davydenko, head of the educational work sector, and Olena Raykova, senior researcher of the funds sector.

The temporary exhibition “With Ukraine in the Heart” from stock and private collections was informative. Its organizers – deputy director for scientific work Lidia Ovsienko and chief custodian of funds Lyudmila Kochegura prepared for display more than 50 items with patriotic symbols: postage stamps and stickers, envelopes and postcards, candy wrappers, children’s products, paper cups from drinks.

The presentation of the personal exhibition of the artist Ihor Chabanov took place in the Poniatovsky Palace museum. The exhibition presents 28 portraits, in particular, of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, musicians, singers, relatives and friends of the artist. Most of his paintings are in private collections of different countries: from Europe to the USA. At the event for the author of the exhibition, there were many sincere greetings from Korsu residents and guests of the city. The artistic vernissage was organized by the head of the Poniatovsky Palace museum, candidate of historical sciences Svitlana Kostenko and researcher Anna Zubko.

The museum activities ended with the presentation of the exhibition “Weapons of the Second World War”, which was held at the military museum of the Reserve. Its manager, Tetiana Polyakova, spoke about the machine guns, mortars, samples of projectiles and mines of various calibers presented at the exhibition, as well as the uniforms and equipment of the soldiers of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, and drew attention to the fact that during the Russian-Ukrainian war, the armed forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had machine guns of the system Maxim, and the troops of the Russian Federation use modified models of machine guns and mortars from the Second World War. The excursion was educational and interesting for adults and children.

The day passed quickly and was full of positive emotions and impressions.
