On November 25, we marked the 186th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Nechuy-Levytskyi. On this day, employees of the Stebliv Territorial Community administration visited the Ivan Nechuy-Levytskyi Literary Memorial Museum to honor the memory of the distinguished native son. Near the monument to the writer, the museum’s director, Andrii Khavrus, spoke to the guests about the significance and relevance of Nechuy’s literary legacy. Afterwards, they enjoyed an engaging tour led by junior researcher Liudmyla Pakhomova, who shared lesser-known facts about the life and works of Ivan Semenovych.
This important date was also commemorated by the Ivan Nechuy-Levytskyi Lyceum in Stebliv. The museum hosted an art event titled “At the Crossroads of the Muse and Destiny”, which featured participation from teachers, students, and their parents. The lyceum’s principal, Tamara Blokhina, gave an original and captivating talk about Nechuy’s musical interests. Delightful musical performances were presented by duets: Oksana Marchenko and her son Oleksandr Kutsan; Oleksandra Khavrus and her daughter Vira; and senior students Alina Mykolenko and Liera Mysan. The audience was especially enchanted by Angelina Shelemba’s piano performance of Ivan Nechuy-Levytskyi’s favorite piece – Beethoven’s Appassionata.
The museum staff was deeply moved to see Nechuy’s home filled with guests on such a special day. We sincerely thank everyone who visited the museum on the birthday of Ivan Semenovych.
