Oleg Sobchenko. EDGES OF UNBREAKABILITY.
editOn January 23, 2024, on the eve of the first anniversary of the death of Oleg Sobchenko, the museum event “OLEH SOBCHENKO. EDGES OF INVINCIBILITY”, prepared by scientists of the Reserve together with students of the Korsun-Shevchenkivsky Gymnasium.
The event was attended by Oleg’s closest relatives – mother Olga Sobchenko and brother Andriy, as well as his friends, like-minded people and students. Among the guests were the relatives of the dead Korsu fighters – the mother and grandmother of Serhiy Biloushenko, Ruslana and Olena Biloushenko, the sister of Oleksandr Bardalym, Nataliya Bardalym-Novak.
Those present honored the memory of all fallen Heroes with a minute of silence.
During the event, there were many fond memories: Halyna Shcherbanych, Oleg’s former class teacher and a teacher of Ukrainian language and literature at the Korsun-Shevchenkivsky Gymnasium, spoke about her school years, favorite subjects and humanity of her former student; Halyna Dobrovolska, a well-known journalist, director of local radio “NA HVYLI KORSUNYA”, volunteer and close friend of Oleg – about joint environmental projects, his human rights and community activities, love for children. Andriy Sobchenko talked about the Omsk period of his brother’s life, his passion for sports and participation in the anti-terrorist operation and full-scale war, about exciting short meetings with him at the front. The performance of Antonina Zhyla, a talented poet, who read a recently written poem dedicated to Oleh Sobchenko, was emotional. At the event, a poem dedicated to Oleg Sobchenko by Victoria Yelyseeva, a former teacher of the K.G. Stetsenko Art School, poet and composer, was read by Ksenia Boldyreva, a student of the gymnasium. The emotionality of the event was enhanced by videos edited by Olga Kryvolap, Oleg’s close friend and associate, for the 50th anniversary of his birth. Vladlen Kovtun, an honorary citizen of Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi, a friend and associate of Oleg Sobchenko, shared interesting facts about the joint work to save the Rosi River.
The event ended with words of gratitude to Oleg Sobchenko and all the Heroes for their protection, for their faith in Victory.
