On the occasion of the Holodomor Remembrance Day, which fell on November 27 this year, students of the Boguslav Ivan Nechuy-Levytsky Humanitarian Trade College presented their works in the Reserve’s art gallery. This is evidence that our youth remembers the tragic pages of Ukrainian history.
\nThe largest tragedy and the gravest crime in the history of the Ukrainian people was the Holodomor of 1932-1933. According to the MV Ptukha Institute of Demography and Social Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Holodomor of 1932\u20131933 claimed 4.5 million lives, of which 3.9 million were due to over-mortality and 0.6 million were unborn. More than 14,000 people died of starvation in the Korsun district.
\nToday’s Ukrainians are the heirs of those who survived the Holodomor. Therefore, it is no coincidence that the exhibition presents portraits of contemporaries, painted by the teacher of fine arts of the college Yaroslav Baida.
\nThe organizers of the exhibition are Svitlana Kostenko, head of the art gallery, and Anna Zubko, researcher.
\nThe exhibition will run until February 1, 2022.
