On January 4, an event was held in the Reserve, during which Christmas wreaths were made. Its main participants were Viktoriya Raykova, a future ethnologist, a student of the history faculty of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, and Dariya Zhuravlyova, a 7th-grade student at the Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi Gymnasium. Our guests not only worked on products but also talked about their studies and creativity in the conditions of war. In her free time from studies, Victoria Raykova embroiders with felt and beads, and Dariya Zhuravlyova creates paintings using the string art technique.<\/p>\n
Scientific workers of the Reserve, Larysa Grebenichenko and Kateryna Loyenko, who have considerable experience in making wreaths, collaborated creatively with our guests. Several of the works were sold, and the funds were transferred to the needs of the Armed Forces.<\/p>\n
Other participants of the event watched the work with interest.<\/p>\n
Scientists of the Reserve told those present about the symbolism of Christmas wreaths, about the deep meaning embedded in them. After all, for many Ukrainians, the wreath has become an important element of the Christmas and New Year decorations. It can be placed on the front door, or wall, or in the center of the festive table. And the guests and participants of the event remembered Christmas carols.<\/p>\n
