Guests of the Reserve were immersed in the atmosphere of a 19th-century ball during an exclusive theatrical excursion “Ball, Ladies and Gentlemen, Ball,” which was conducted on International Museum Day, May 18, at the Ponyatovsky Palace Museum by Tetyana Polyakova, head of the military museum.<\/p>\n
Visitors toured the halls of the palace, learned about the preparations for the ball, the procedure for its holding, the existence of a dress code for guests, and the peculiarities of balls in the Korsun Palace. During the tour, guests heard an interesting story about the purpose of some of the palace’s state rooms, and got acquainted with the works of art presented in the exhibition halls.<\/p>\n
In the 19th century, balls were held to the accompaniment of the serfs’ own orchestra. And during the tour of the palace, classical music was played. Guests \u201cwalked\u201d through the halls \u2013 artists in ballroom attire, which to some extent recreated the atmosphere of the event.<\/p>\n
An important theme of the excursion was dance. Among the obligatory ones were polonaise, quadrilles, mazurkas and, of course, a romantic waltz. In the central hall of the palace, it was performed by members of the dance group “Yunist” (leader – Alena Piskova) – students of the Korsun-Shevchenko Professional Pedagogical College named after T.G. Shevchenko.<\/p>\n
