The Reserve participated in the UNESCO specialized training “Developing Digital Integration: Strengthening the Register of Museum Funds of Ukraine through Museum Digitization”, which took place on August 26-27, 2025 in the Lviv Cultural Hub. The training brought together 100 museum specialists from all over Ukraine who are responsible for museum accounting and digitization, as well as those involved in working with the Register of Museum Funds of Ukraine. The training participants were divided into two groups. From the Reserve, Olena Raykova, a senior researcher in the funds sector, participated in the work of the first group.
The goal of the event: to provide museum professionals with the knowledge and tools necessary to digitize museum collections. After all, in the modern world, digitization contributes to the preservation of national heritage, ensuring quick and easy access to information, and is also the key to protection against destruction or damage, which has become especially relevant in times of war.
For two days, professional Ukrainian experts conducted training sessions and workshops. On the first day, there was an active communication with Anastasia Bondar, Deputy Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization.
The training covered approaches to developing a strategy for digital transformation of museums, digitization methods, software, international standards, 3-D documentation, and filling in the Register of Museum Funds of Ukraine.
It was valuable to communicate with colleagues, especially museum staff who have experience in evacuation.
The training was organized with the participation of UNESCO, the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, and the Ukrainian Heritage Monitoring Laboratory (HeMo).
The training participants received international certificates.
