Exhibition of paintings by Denis Nevkryty at the Ponyatovsky Palace Museum
Denys Nevkryty, artist, restorer, writer, was born on June 16, 1895 in the village of Matviyivka in the Poltava region. In 1916–1919 he studied at the Philological Faculty of the Imperial University of St. Volodymyr (Kyiv). In 1919 he graduated from the Kyiv Art School, where his teachers were Fotii Krasytskyi, Hryhorii Dyadchenko, Volodymyr Menk, Ivan Seleznyov, Fedir Krychevskyi. While still at school, Denys Nevkryty became interested in Ukrainian theater, attended drama school, where he met the famous actress Maria Starytska, writer Oksana Steshenko, and other figures of Ukrainian culture.
