On International Museum Day, May 18, the presentation of the exhibition “The Armed Forces of Ukraine – a reliable shield of Ukraine” took place in the military museum of the Reserve, which featured 74 sleeve and breast patches from the collection of the Reserve’s funds.

During the tour, Tetyana Polyakova, head of the military museum and author of the exhibition, spoke about the history of the appearance of chevrons, which dates back to the times of Ancient Egypt, about the difference between a chevron and a patch on a military uniform, as well as about the symbolism of individual patches.

The guests heard stories about Ukrainian soldiers whose patches are presented at the exhibition “The Armed Forces of Ukraine – a Reliable Shield of Ukraine.”

The story was continued at the exhibition “Ukraine – Above All!”, where numerous sleeve and breast patches of our compatriots who died in the Russian-Ukrainian war are exhibited. They were donated to the Reserve by the relatives of the fallen Heroes.

The event was attended by veterans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who are undergoing rehabilitation. They looked at both exhibitions with interest and talked about the insignia of their military units.

It was a pleasant surprise when one of the veterans donated his sleeve patch to the military museum.

The exhibition “The Armed Forces of Ukraine – a reliable shield of Ukraine” will be on display until June 20.
