Board game models
The Ponyatovsky Palace Museum is exhibiting an exhibition of board game models by Yaroslav Poltavets.
Yaroslav was born in 1997 in the city of Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi. From an early age, he grew up among fantasy books and films about brave knights, terrible monsters and cunning sorcerers, was inspired by John Tolkien’s novels and old historical films, studied costumes, weapons and the everyday life of people of past eras. Later, video games appeared in Yaroslav’s life, in particular those where events took place in the Middle Ages, with the integral addition of fantasy elements.
The exhibition exhibits 3 works by Yaroslav Poltavets:
- “Water Mill” – a diorama of a medieval mill. 2022;
- “Lord’s Castle” – a model of a castle in the style of the late Middle Ages. 2023;
- “The city is preparing for the arrival of the circus” – a model of a quarter in a medieval style with fantasy elements. 2026.
The following materials were used to create them: epoxy resin, wood, plaster, cardboard, wire, sand, acrylic, imitation of vegetation, imitation of soil.
Yaroslav Poltavets’ works are used by gaming clubs and local groups of players in many cities of Ukraine, in particular, in Kyiv, Odessa, Zaporizhia, Cherkasy, Dnipro.
The exhibition will be on display until August 20
