On the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine, the family of Vasyl and Tatyana Piskunov handed over to the Reserve a flag with the inscription “Korsun”, which they had kept since the Maidan, as a relic and a memory of their close friend and like-minded person Yuriy Kupreev, a public figure, participant in the Revolution of Dignity, volunteer, Hero of the Russian-Ukrainian War, who gave his life for Ukraine and each of us.

Yuriy was Vasyl’s best friend from school. They had been friends since the 5th grade. They became even closer while studying in Kyiv. Since their student years, they have actively participated in various political, human rights actions and events that took place in the capital. And when the revolutionary events began in Kyiv, they were together on the Maidan since November 2013.

Tetyana said: “Once Yura came to us with Vasyl with a flag and said: ‘We need to sign the flag quickly.’ And together we started cutting out and sewing letters with the inscription ‘Korsun’. We were in a hurry, so we fastened some letters with pins. With this flag, Yura, Vasyl, and other Korsun residents participated in all the events on the Maidan.”

We are sincerely grateful to Tatyana and Vasyl for the priceless gift. It will take pride of place in the military museum’s exhibition.
