The Ponyatovsky Palace Museum is exhibiting the exhibition “Indomitable Faces of War” featuring works by the talented artist Yaroslav Bayda, a teacher of painting and color science at the Kyiv Professional College of Technology and Design, a native of Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi. After the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the artist voluntarily joined the defense of his native country. He is a junior lieutenant, commander of the rifle platoon of the 111th separate territorial defense brigade, call sign “Picasso”.
At the front, Yaroslav Bayda creates portraits of his fellow soldiers, who have become symbols of courage, resilience, and indomitability.
The exhibition presents 23 portraits of Ukrainian soldiers, made in pencil. The artist conveys not only the appearance of the heroes, but also their inner world, the experience they have experienced and the strength of spirit. In each work there is authenticity without embellishment: the views that have seen the war, and the souls that have remained bright despite everything. This is art, born among trials, but full of dignity and brotherhood.
The exhibition will be open until July 2, 2026.
