On the great Christian holiday of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin, artist-painter, graphicartist, restorer Oksana Tymkiv handed over to the Reserve a charitably restored icon “Coronation of the Virgin Mary”, which was previously stored in the funds and could not be exhibited due to unsatisfactory condition. This icon is a valuable work of sacred art of the XIX century. It was written by the father of the famous Ukrainian composer Kyrylo Hryhorovych Stetsenko – Hryhoriy Mykhailovych Stetsenko.
This is the fifth icon that Oksana Tymkiv has charitably restored for the Reserve. Earlier, she restored icons: “The Image of the Virgin of Tikhvin”, “The Image of the Virgin Hodegetria”, “The Savior King of Kings”, a three-part icon “The Savior the Great Bishop with opposing St. Barbara and St. Nicholas”.
All the restored icons are now exhibited in the reserve’s art gallery, in the section “Sacred art – symbolic art”.
