On March 7, the historical museum of the Reserve hosted a literary hour “Relevance of Kobzar’s work. T. Shevchenko about Ukraine, moscals, russia”. The event is timed to the 210th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko. Among the participants of the event were Shevchenko experts, local historians, artists, and schoolchildren.

Ivan Nemchenko, a well-known Ukrainian writer, literary critic and Shevchenko scholar, shared his thoughts on the relevance of Kobzar’s work and his attitude towards moscals and russia.

The performance of local historian Leonid Voroshylo, who spoke about his first acquaintance with “Kobzar” and read one of Taras Shevchenko’s poems, was interesting.

Lyudmyla Bystrova-Drobot, literary critic, poet spoke about the influence of Kobzar’s work on the formation of her worldview.

Poems by Taras Shevchenko were read by Kateryna Loyenko, junior researcher of the Reserve, and Yulia Rak, lead librarian of the Korsun-Shevchenkivsky City Council Public Library.

Poet and journalist Anna Savranska presented the Reserve with her collection of poems “In Korsun over Ros'” and the book “Artists of Korsun region” (author-compiler Mykhailo Volkov).
