On October 24, the Seventeenth Scientific Reading “New Research of Reserve Scientists” was held in the Reserve, where the results of the latest scientific explorations were made public.

Candidate of historical sciences Svitlana Kostenko spoke about the charitable restoration of icons from the collection of the Reserve by Oksana Tymkiv, a well-known restoration artist and icon painter from Kyiv. Andrii Havrus’s scientific report was devoted to Ivan Nechuy-Levytskyi’s studies at the Bohuslav Theological School and was based on the writer’s memoirs, written a few years before his death.

Tetyana Polyakova’s story about the participation in the struggle for the independence of the Spanish colonies in South America by Mykhailo Skibytskyi, who was the owner of the village, was interesting. Guta Steblivska.

The speeches of Larisa Tsyomenko about the volunteer activities of the residents of the village were touching. A flower during the Russian-Ukrainian war and Halyna Davydenko about the public association “Merezhimo Peremogu”, whose members made hundreds of camouflage nets for Ukrainian soldiers.

The source base of the scientific report “Methods of creating furniture and means of transportation from wood in the Korsun region in the middle of the 20th century.” Anna Zubko compiled their own field research in the villages of the former Korsun-Shevchenkivsky district, monitoring studies in the Korsun-Shevchenkivsky Park – the scientific report “Rare species of fauna living in the territory of the Korsun-Shevchenkivsky Park” by Kateryna Loyenko.

Two scientific reports were devoted to the study of the stock collections of the Reserve. Lidia Ovsienko highlighted the history of the archaeological collection. Olena Raikova’s speech about the use of earthenware produced by Ukrainian factories in the everyday life of Ukrainians was interesting and informative.

Scientific reports will be published in the journal “Korsunskyi Chasopis”. Based on the materials of scientific readings, radio programs “On the Waves of Korsun” (104.8 FM) will be created. We will submit short posts on the Reserve’s Facebook page.
