CONFERENCE HELD AT THE RESERVE

On April 24, the scientific-practical online conference “Topical Issues of Ukrainian History and Culture” was held at the Reserve. A total of 55 researchers from 13 regions of Ukraine—Volyn, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Cherkasy—as well as from the city of Kyiv, submitted applications and articles for participation.

Participants included university lecturers, researchers from national and state museums and reserves, experts from major archival institutions, and local historians.

All scholarly presentations were based on original research. Speakers addressed contemporary issues in modern Ukrainian history, the Russian-Ukrainian war, and decommunization. Many talks explored aspects of local history in the broader Ukrainian historical context. A significant portion focused on the study, preservation, and promotion of Ukraine’s historical and cultural heritage during wartime.

We extend our sincere thanks to the scholars for their participation, for their compelling presentations, and for the lively discussions that followed.

The conference was organized by Lidiia Ovsiienko, Deputy Director for Research at the Reserve.
