Fedorenko Borys (02.23.1946 – 29.01.2012) – is a painter, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, honorary Citizen of Korsun-Shevchenkivsriy .
He was born in the village of Sydorivka , Korsun-Shevchenkivsky (now Zvenygorolka) district. Finished Sydorivka school, Yavoriv art school on art wod carving (1964), Kyiv Art Institute (1974). He worked in the field of easel painting.
The best features and achievements of Ukrainian, Russian, Italian classical art organically joined in his creative work. The artist won his first victory at the General European competition – exhibition, which took place in 1997 in the Italian city of Chinkole, where his work “A girl with a Dog” was presented and recognized as the best. For this work of art, the artist received the first prize and was awarded the Gold Medal for achievements in fine arts.
Much attention he paid to the landscapes. He painted his works, usually in the open air. In particular, it is a genre art-work as “Cherkasy”, which depicts a corner next to the village of Sydorivka, and “Near the village”, a landscape which is close to the Italian Pastorales.
In search of landscape subjects, the artist was travelling not only in Ukraine, but also visited many foreign countries. So, having visited Germany, he became interested in the old building – it’s “Reisenberg Castle”. Having painted this castle, the artist proved to be a master of the urban landscape.
Among artist’s genres a significant place belongs to a portrait. These are portraits of Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Anatoliy Bakhmut (2002), of many years director of Reserve art gallery, and the artist, poet, architect Mykola Kucherenko (2000).
He was one of the directors of the creative association “Art Europe”, one of the organizers and participants of international plein airs near Dubovitsa (Slovakia), a member of creative groups in Italy. The artist created a series of works about nature and people of these countries , in particular, the works “Dubovytsa”, “Numan. Italy”.
The first personal exhibition of the artist took place in 1999 in the art gallery of the Reserve. At that time he presented the Reserve with 9 paintings, on the basis of which a personal hall of the artist was created.
B.Fedorenko created 2,000 paintings and hundreds of graphic works. His works are in many museums, galleries and private collections in Ukraine, Italy, France, Germany, Canada and Ireland.
