On February 20, to the Day of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, the museum event “Maidan. The indestructibility of the people”. It is dedicated to the Korsun’s people – participants of the Revolution of Dignity, who, having passed the spiritual test on the Maidan, became the first ranks of Ukraine’s defenders and gave the most valuable thing for it – their lives, forever inscribing their names in Ukrainian history. We remember each of them.
The relatives of the Heroes – Svitlana and Diana Hondyuk’s, Olena Biloushenko, Nataliya Bardalym, their friends, students of the Korsun-Shevchenkivsky Pedagogical College named after T. Shevchenko were present at the event. A minute of silence was observed in memory of all those who fought for the independence of Ukraine.
The speech of Stanislav Stepenkin, candidate of historical sciences, head of the Historical Museum of the Reserve, was informative, who spoke about the impact of the Revolution of Dignity on the European vector of Ukraine’s development, shared his impressions of what he saw on the Maidan and the results of research on the scientific topic “Participation of Korsunites in the Revolution of Dignity.”
The head of the public organization “Military-patriotic club “Korsun-Sich”” Gennadiy Egorov spoke about the dead students – Serhiy Hondyuk, Yuriy Kupreev, his colleague Serhiy Mazurenko.
Serhii Hondyuk’s wife, Diana, gave his flask, watch, knife, shield from the Maidan to the Reserve.
The emotionality of the event was enhanced by the performances of talented performers and composers, sisters Valentyna Hryniuk and Tamara Vinglevska from the Center for Children’s and Youth Creativity of the Korsun-Shevchenkivsky City Council. In addition to songs by Ukrainian authors, they also performed original songs.
