On November 6, students of the 1st grade of the Korsun-Shevchenko Gymnasium visited the Reserve. They became the first participants in the environmental campaign “Feed the birds”, which is traditionally held from November to March as part of the environmental project “Save the environment”. The children hung feeders and many “bird cookies” that they made with their own hands in the park.

Kateryna Loyenko, a junior researcher at the Department of Nature Conservation, prepared an interesting and informative talk about wintering birds of the park for children. The schoolchildren were able to observe titmice and ducks, find woodpecker hollows on the tree trunks, and also hear the chirping of birds hiding in the lilac bushes on Yantalka Mountain. Communicating with nature gave all the participants of the environmental event positive emotions.

Winter will soon come and it will be difficult for birds to find food. Every grain or crumb in the feeder will help them survive. So when going for a walk to the park, don’t forget “treats” for your feathered friends.
