May 24 marks the 141st anniversary of the birth of Kyrylo Stetsenko, an outstanding creator of Ukrainian music. A talented composer, pupil, and follower of Mykola Lysenko, choirmaster, conductor, teacher, public figure, and ardent patriot of Ukraine Kyrylo Hryhorovych left a bright mark in the history of Ukrainian culture. His talented children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren became the successors of the composer’s artistic works.

On the eve of the birthday of an outstanding compatriot, as part of the educational project of the Reserve “Outstanding Figures of Ukraine”, in the memorial museum of K.G. Stetsenka in the village of An art class “Composer, teacher, priest” was held in Kvitky. Students of the 5th and 6th grades of the Kvitky Lyceum took part in the event. The head of the museum, Larysa Tsyomenko, told schoolchildren about the work of Kyrylo Stetsenko, his popularization of Ukrainian folk songs, as well as Kyrylo Hryhorovych struggle for the creation of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church.

The children listened to a number of the composer’s works, and got acquainted with the temporary exhibition, which tells about the descendants of Kyrylo Grygorovych.
