To mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding writer, poetess, translator, folklorist, cultural figure Lesya Ukrainka (Larysa Kosach), a book exhibition “The Genius Daughter of the Ukrainian People” has been created in the scientific library of the Preserve.
The exhibition presents, in particular, Lesya Ukrainka’s “Works” in 4 volumes, “Selected Poetry” (1945 edition), a collection of poems “Dawn Lights”, prose works “Happiness”, a collection of works, documents and memoirs “Dreams of Broken Wing».
You can read about the life and work of Lesya Ukrainka in the book “Memories of Lesya Ukrainka”, where she is mentioned by writers Ivan Franko and Olha Kobylyanska, scientist Ahatanhel Krymskiy; Kliment Kvitka, Lesya Ukrainka’s husband, describes her musical and folklore heritage; Olena Pchilka, the writer’s mother, tells about Lesya’s latest creative idea.
Our compatriot, a native of the village of Harbuzyn, the famous writer, Shevchenko connoisseur Petero Zhur in the book “Lesya’s Petersburg” covered her life and work during her stay in this city, the publication contains many illustrations.
Lesya Ukrainka’s sister Olha Kosach-Kryvyniuk in the book “Lesya Ukrainka. Chronology of Life and Creativity “described her life in great detail, for the first time published many Lesya’s letters. The book was published on the initiative of the youngest sister of Lesya Ukrainka, Izidora Kosach-Borysova, in 1970 in New York (USA) at the Ukrainian Free Academy of Sciences.
