On December 4, the scientists of the Reserve together with the students of the Korsun-Shevchenkivsky Gymnasium held an hour of Remembrance “War. Grani”, timed to the 50th anniversary of the birth of Oleg Sobchenko – Defender Warrior, volunteer of the Russian-Ukrainian war, full knight of the Order “For Courage”, well-known public figure, human rights defender, honorary citizen of Korsun-Shevchenkivsky, who died on January 24 2023 in the battle with the Russian invaders in the area of Vugledar, Donetsk region.

The participants of the event honored the memory of Oleg Sobchenko and all the fallen Heroes with a moment of silence, laid flowers by his portrait.

At the event, interesting facts from the life of the famous skater, fragments from his memoirs and front posts, stories about active social activities were heard.

Olga Kryvolap, a close friend and like-minded person of Oleh, made a touching and touching speech of the head of the public association “Merezhimo Peremogu”. She talked about getting to know Oleg, about his multifaceted interests, human rights and environmental activities, master classes held at the “Black Zaporozhian Kurin”, in which he took an active part, and also demonstrated interesting artifacts that Oleg brought back from the war. The event ended with a tour of the exhibition “Ukraine – above everything!”, during which the students got acquainted with the exhibits given to the Reserve by Oleg Sobchenko.
