The Holodomor of 1932–1933 in the Korsun region
editOn November 24, a lesson-excursion “The Holodomor of 1932-1933 in the Korsun region” was held for students of the Korsun-Shevchenkivsky Gymnasium in the historical museum of the Reserve, timed to the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor-genocide.
Candidate of historical sciences, head of the historical museum, Stanislav Stepenkin, in a witty and well-argued manner, in the context of the history of Ukraine, told the children about the artificial famines that the residents of Korsun region suffered from in the 20th century, about the painful and tragic years 1932–1933, when the largest number of victims of the famines occurred. about the fatal decisions made by the criminal Soviet leadership with the aim of destroying the Ukrainian people; children were also mentioned – innocent victims of the criminal regime.
Decades later, Russia is repeating terrible crimes against Ukrainians, burning the fields and elevators, torturing and killing civilians, destroying civilian infrastructure: schools, hospitals, residential buildings. The events currently taking place in Ukraine convince us that crimes against humanity can never be forgiven and forgotten. The enemy must be punished. The genocide must be condemned by the whole world, and the innocent victims must be honored.
